About the Role
Curriculum Development and Delivery: Design and implement creative and engaging ESL lesson plans aligned with the British curriculum and the school's ESL program. This includes selecting appropriate teaching materials, adapting lessons to meet the needs of individual learners, and using a variety of teaching methodologies to cater to different learning styles.
Assessment and Feedback: Regularly assess student progress through various methods, including formative and summative assessments, and provide constructive feedback to students and parents. Maintain accurate records of student attendance and progress.
Classroom Management: Create and maintain a positive and well-managed classroom environment where students feel safe, respected, and motivated to learn. Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure that all students are engaged and on task.
Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive and effective learning experience for all students. Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and any concerns. Participate in school events and activities.
Professional Development: Actively participate in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with the latest ESL teaching methodologies and best practices.
Extracurricular Involvement (Optional): Contribute to the school's extracurricular activities program by leading or assisting with clubs, sports, or other activities.
Requirements
Education:
Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field.
Certifications:
CELTA, TESOL, or equivalent ESL certification (e.g., DELTA, CertTESOL).
Experience:
Proven experience teaching ESL to students of different age groups and proficiency levels (specify a desired number of years for your fictional posting, e.g., "Minimum 2 years of experience").
Experience with the British curriculum is a plus.
Experience teaching in an international school setting is preferred.
